2018 Pulaski Awards
On Sunday, October 28, 2018, the Polish American Central Citizens Committee of Metro Detroit held its 46th Annual Pulaski Awards banquet at the PNA Hall in Hamtramck, Michigan. The Central Citizens Committee has existed for over 100 years and has seen its focus shift from recruiting Polish Americans to join the fight for Poland's independence during the first World War to one of education and cultural outreach.
This year one member of the Wawel Folk Ensemble was included among the recipients of the Pulaski Medal. Congratulations to Wawel member, Beth on her receipt of a 2018 Pulaski medal. Beth joins other Wawel members who've received the award in the past: Wawel's choreographer, Donna (Pulaski Award 1996), Wawel's Director, Tom (Pulaski Award 2006), Wawel member, Basia (Pulaski Award 2016), Wawel member, Nick (Pulaski Award 2017), Wawel member, Jessica (Pulaski Award 2017).
