2015 Pulaski Awards

On Sunday, October, 25, 2015, the Wawel Folk Ensemble received a special recognition from the Polish American Central Citizens' Committee of Detroit.  This award was presented at the Central Citizens' Committee's annual Pulaski Awards dinner held at the PNA Hall in Hamtramck, Michigan.  Wawel received this award in recognition of its 50th Anniversary.
Congratulations to the other organizations and individuals who received a 2015 Pulaski Medal.

Polish Night at the Elks

On Saturday, October 24, 2015, members of the Wawel Folk Ensemble performed as part of a Polish Night hosted at the Mount Clemens Elks' Club.  Wawel presented its new Polka Warszawska and Sieradz suite.

Wawel has several upcoming events which celebrate its 50th Anniversary.  They are:
- November 21, 2015 - 50th Anniversary Dinner Dance at the American Polish Century Club in Sterling Heights, Michigan.
- December 5, 2015 - 50th Anniversary Gala Concert at the Warren Woods Middle School in Warren, Michigan.

American Polish Century Club Performance

On Wednesday, October 21, 2015, members of the Wawel Folk Ensemble performed at a meeting of the American Polish Century Club in Sterling Heights, Michigan.  The ensemble presented its Krakowiak and joined in the singing of the American National Anthem.  Wawel’s performance was part of the club’s celebration of Polish Heritage Month during the meeting.  Following the performance, members of the ensemble were invited to join the club members in a pre-meeting dinner.
Wawel’s next performance is Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the Mt. Clemens Elk’s Club Polish Night in Mt. Clemens, Michigan.

Transfiguration Mas Mob

On Sunday, October 11, 2015, members of the Wawel Folk Ensemble participated as greeters and in procession at the Detroit Mass Mob held at St. John Paul II Parish in Detroit, Michigan's Transfiguration Worship site.  The event was very well attended with a standing room only crowd.  Following the Mass Mob, attendees were invited to the Parish's social hall for a Polish picnic lunch.

Wawel's next performance will on October 18, 2015 at St. John Paul II parish in Detroit as part of their Polish heritage mass and dinner.
