2018 Blessing of the Polish Folk Dance Ensembles
On Sunday, March 11, 2018, members of the Wawel Folk Ensemble participated in the 16th Annual Blessing of the Polish Folk Dance Ensembles at St. Hyacinth Church in Detroit, Michigan. A long standing event on the Ensemble's calendar, Wawel has attended each year of the event's existence. The event was implemented by St. Hyacinth's former pastor, the late Fr. Francis Skalski and has been continued by its current pastor, Fr. Janusz Iwan. The event was well attended by many Michigan Polish folk dance ensembles.
