Cicha Noc

On Sunday, December 24, 2006, members of the Wawel Folk Ensemble participated in procession at Sweetest Heart of Mary's midnight mass in Detroit, Michigan.

Wawel has a long history with Sweetest Heart of Mary, participating in its Christmas Eve Midnight Mass, Sunrise Easter Sunday Service and in its annual Pierogi Festival in the late summer/early fall.

Sister Act

On Sunday, December 3, 2006, the members of the Wawel Folk Ensemble performed for the Felician Sisters at the Felician Motherhouse in Livonia, Michigan as part of their Christmas Party.

Wawel presented its Nowy Sacz, Rzeszow, and Lubelski suites as well as the Karolina Polka for the sisters. Following the performance, members of the Ensemble partnered up with sisters for a group dance along to the Karolina Polka.

After the performance, the ensemble enjoyed lunch with the sisters, a visit from Swiety Mikolaj and with sisters, who were unable to attend the party.

Wawel's next appearance will be at Sweetest Heart of Mary for Midnight Mass on December 24, 2006.

Polish Night with the Elks

On Saturday, November 18, 2006, Wawel performed at the Mt. Clemen's Elk's Polish Night.

Wawel presented its Nowy Sacz, Rzeszow, and Lubelski suites as well as the Karolina Polka. After the performance, members of the ensemble were treated to Polish Buffet featuring items prepared by Wawel alumni David Laforge and current Wawel member and Mt. Clemen's Elk member David Porzondek.

After eating, members of the ensemble enjoyed the Elk's hospitality while listening to a D. J. spin Polka, Waltzes, and other Polish top - 40 favorites.

Wawel's next performance will be on December 3, 2006 at the Felician Motherhouse in Livonia, Michigan.
