Late Summer/Early Fall Update

It's been a busy past few months for the Wawel Folk Ensemble.  Summer has flown by and we find ourselves in mid-October already.

On July 16, 2017, members of the ensemble performed at a family reunion.

On August 13, 2017, members of the ensemble performed at Sweetest Heart of Mary Church in Detroit, Michigan's annual Pierogi Festival.  Wawel has a longstanding history with Sweetest Heart of Mary and is always happy to be back at the parish.

On September 4, 2017, members of the ensemble marched in the annual Polish Day Parade, held every Labor Day, in Hamtramck, Michigan.

Wawel also had performances on September 10 and September 15, 2017.

On October 15, 2017, Wawel attended the annual Polish Heritage Mass and then performed at a dinner celebrating Polish Heritage Month at Transfiguration Church in Detroit, Michigan.  For its performance, Wawel presented suites of dances from Sieradz, Eastern Krakow, and its dances from Old Warsaw.

On Wednesday, October 18, 2017, Wawel will perform at the American Polish Century Club in Sterling Heights, Michigan before its monthly meeting begins in order to help the club celebrate Polish Heritage Month.
