Pierogipalooza II
On Friday, June 2, 2017, members of the Wawel Folk Ensemble performed at the second annual Pierogipalooza at the PNA hall in Hamtramck, Michigan. The well attended event was a fundraiser for the Polish American Congress - Michigan Division.
For its performance, Wawel presented suites of dances from Rzeszow and Sieradz. The event also featured performances by the Polanie Dance Ensemble from Dearborn, Michigan as well as musical performances from the Kielbasa Kings Polka Band.
In addition to the musical and dance performances, there were numerous vendor tables and, of course, pierogi - over 24 different varieties to sample. The pierogi were provided by Srodek's Campau Quality Sausage, Polish Village Café and Bozek's Market.
Wawel's next performance will be as part of the Polish Folk Dance Association of the Americas gala concert at Polish Fest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on June 17, 2017.
