Mt. Clemens Elk’s Club Polish Night
Capping
off a busy week for the Ensemble (performance and procession on 10/12 and a
performance on 10/15) members of the Wawel Folk Ensemble performed at the Mt.
Clemens Elk’s Club’s Annual Polish Night on October 17, 2014. In addition to Wawel’s performance the event
included a Polish dinner cooked by members of the Elks (one of whom is a Wawel
member) as well as pierogi from the Polish Village Café in Hamtramck, Michigan.
For
its performance, Wawel presented its Biłgorag, Sieradz, and Rzeszów
suites. Following the performance
members of the ensemble remained at the Elks to participate in their Friday
night Karaoke. Sadly, the karaoke DJ did
not have Jestesz Szalona or Ona Tańczy Dla Mnie in their play book. Regardless, a good time was had by all.
In
the coming weeks, members of the Wawel Folk Ensemble will shift from the dance
floor to the kitchen counter as the begin making pierogi for their annual
pierogi sale. If you’re interested in
obtaining a few dozen please speak with a member of the ensemble.
Wawel’s
next scheduled public appearance is December 24, 2014 at Sweetest Heart of Mary
Church in Detroit, Michigan for their midnight mass procession; however, please
check the blog frequently as the blog is updated as new events are added.
