Folk Dance Festival/50th Anniversary of the Shrine Chapel

On Saturday, March 2, 2013 the Wawel Folk Ensemble performed at the 6th Annual Polish Folk Dance Festival at the American Polish Cultural Center in Troy, Michigan.  Wawel has performed at this event since its inception.  The event featured 14 Polish folk dance groups from the Metro-Detroit area, as well as 1 from Windsor, Ontario.  At the festival, Wawel presented its Sieradz and Biłgoraj suites, as well as its Polka Warszawska.

On Sunday, March 3, 2013 the Wawel Folk Ensemble was participated in a mass celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Shrine Chapel at the Orchard Lake Schools.  The mass was well attended by many Metro Detroit Polonian leaders and was celebrated by Archbishop of Detroit, the Most Reverend Allen Vigneron.

Wawel’s next public appearances are on March 9, 2013 at the annual Patty Joe Party at the American Polish Century Club in Sterling Heights, Michigan and on March 10, 2013 at the annual blessing of the Polish Folk Dance Ensembles at St. Hyacinth Church in Detroit, Michigan.
