Mid Summer 2012 Update

Hard to believe that we're rolling in to August already.  Memorial Day and the Fourth of July are already behind us, and big box retailers are airing "back to school ads."  Despite summer marching on, Wawel has been putting the warm months to good use by appearing at many events in Metro Detroit.  Here's a quick run down of what we've been up to:

29 April 2012 - Performance at Transfiguration/Our Lady Help of Christians/St. Ladislaus Potato/Apple Festival in Detroit, Michigan.

5 May 2012 - Performance at St. Florian Strawberry Festival in Hamtramck, Michigan.

22 June 2012 - Wawel held its summer bowling fundraiser at Regal Lanes in Warren, Michigan.  Proceeds from this event will be used to purchase new costumes for the group.

24 June 2012 - Performance at the Austrian Society of Detroit's picnic in Utica, Michigan.

6 July 2012 - Performance at the American Polish Century Club's Polish Festival in Sterling Heights, Michigan.

Upcoming events:

29 July 2012 (this weekend) - Performance at PNA piknik at Wanda Park, Sterling Heights, Michigan

12 August 2012 - Performance at Sweetest Heart of Mary Pierogi Festival, Detroit, Michigan

19 August 2012 - Peformance at St. Malachy annual Summer Festival, Sterling Heights, Michigan

3 September 2012 - Appearance in the Annual Polish Day Parade, Hamtramck, Michigan

In addition to the performances, the group is hard at working learning a new suite of dances that it plans to debut at some of the summer performances.  Please check this blog and our Facebook site for additional schedule updates.  Hopefully we'll see you at a performance this summer.
