Happy New Year - 2007!
Wawel held its first practice of 2007 on January 17, 2007. In addition to running through the Polonez, Cieszyn, Lowicz and Zywiec, Wawel welcomed a very special guest to its practice.
Keith Famie, celebrity chef, documentary film maker, and former Survivor contestant visited practice to collect footage for his upcoming documentary about Polish Americans in Detroit.

Celebrity Chef, Keith Famie
2007 should be another exciting year for Wawel. The group will travel to Chicago in July for the PFDAA Festival. Also on the 2007 performance calendar are appearances at Transfiguration Parish's Mardi Gras in February, St. Hyacinth's blessing of Polish Folk Ensemble mass in March and an appearance at Milwaukee, Wisconsin's annual Polish Fest. More events will follow as the year progresses

I am sure that Wawel put on a lovely display for Keith Famie. However I am somewhat perplexed that there is no mention of pierogie. You have a celebrity chef around and all you kids can do is dance?
Having been to a number of your performances, I have noticed that you occationally have interludes during which you sing and have sort of villiage life scenes. Hopefully one of the numbers you performed contained some pierogie frying.
A truely dynamic ensemble should include not only song and dance but also the frying of pierogie, especially when a celebrity chef stops in.

I agree with Pierogi Dancer, to some extent, buy frying pierogi while dancing could get really dangerous. What if grease spilled on the floor? While a non-sticky floor greatly facilitates a polka, a grease splattered one greatly facilitates falling dancers.
