Polish Wedding in the Park
On Wednesday, June 28, 2006, the Wawel Folk Ensemble participated in the Polish Wedding in the Park at Shain Park in Birmingham, MI.
Wawel performed its Polonez, Karolina Polka and Cieszyn suite. The event also featured performances from the PRCUA Zajaczek Dance Ensemble from Sterling Heights, MI as well as the musical stylings of Big Daddy Lackowski and The La Dee Das.
After performing, members of Wawel and Zajaczek led the audience in a Polish Style Grand Wedding March. The event concluded with everyone dancing to the Beer Barrel Polka, and with the singing of the God Bless America, The Battle Hymn of the Republic, How Great Thou Art, and the Polish National Anthem led by Big Daddy.
