2017 Pulaski Awards
On Sunday, October 29, 2017, the Polish American Central Citizens Committee of Metro Detroit held its 45th Annual Pulaski Awards banquet at the PNA Hall in Hamtramck, Michigan. The Central Citizens Committee has existed for over 100 years and has seen its focus shift from recruiting Polish Americans to join the fight for Poland's independence during the first World War to one of education and cultural outreach.
This year two members of the Wawel Folk Ensemble were included in the 7 recipients of the Pulaski Medal. Congratulations to Wawel members, Nick and Jessica on their receipt of a 2017 Pulaski medal. These two members join other Wawel members who've received the award in the past: Wawel's choreographer, Donna (Pulaski Award 1996), Wawel's Director, Tom (Pulaski Award 2006), and Wawel member, Basia (Pulaski Award 2016).
Congratulations!
